Advertisement for TV
Saturday, October 3rd, 2009Recently, we have been working with Upinder Raisauda of Central Media Station to create an ad for Rashmi’s Veg Cakes and boy did he do a good job? Check for yourself by looking at the ad here.
The shooting of the ad was done on Monday, July 13th. The ad was shot at my friend Ranjit’s house. He was graious enough to allow us to mess up his whole house. We planned to shot in his back yard but have to move inside because of strong wind which made it impossible to shot outside.
Apart from three professional actors, we had five kids named Sukhman, Aditya, Sanmeet, Harsh and Riti, all of them worked very hard to make this possible. Upinder had five more professionals for camera, sound, makeup and setup to help him with shooting.
There were total four shots involving actors in the ad and one close up shot of the cake. Upinder is very professional and he made sure that he was able to get best shots even though for one shot he went through over 20 retakes. Eveyone during the ad loved the cakes so much that we were filling plates again and again.
Once the shooting part was over in the house, it was time for much needed pizza and then we headed to the store for cake shots. It was already close to 11:30 pm at night. We had prepared many dummies and actual cakes (some one was lucky next day to get $100 cake for $40 and next week he was disappointed that he got $40 cake for $40) for the ad. Here cake shots took another two hours and by the time we were done, everyone was completely exhausted.
The shooting part was just the beginning of the ad as lot more work was required to complete the ad. Color correction of the film, voice over, animation of cakes, logo animation and music were many other things needed. So, there was lot of back and forth between Upinder and us and finally here you can see end product.
Ad has come out beautiful and everyone who has seen it so far loves it. I highly recommend Upinder for any work related to advestisement as he has been highly patient and professional with his work. He himself is a pefectionist and make sure that only the best goes out and won’t compromise on any thing. If you want to check more of his work, here is his website address and link to other ads:

Now, we are working with ATN to bring this ad to your homes. Starting Monday, October 5, 2009, this ad will be aired on ATN at around 6:30 pm, 8:15 pm and 10:00 pm. As the ad is ready to be relayed, we’re worried about the response we will get for this ad and frankly speaking we’re more worried about getting too much response than too little as this can really piss off new customers. But, let’s keep our fingers crossed!!
